Can songs from other countries besides America and England be played on an iPod?
I was wondering whether songs from other foreign countries (besides the US and UK) can be played on an iPod or such MP3 player. Do I need to have a certain "language" decoder for iTunes? Because I have a couple of CD's from a famous Chinese artist, Dave Wang, in which has a couple of my favorite songs that I want to upload onto iTunes and then download onto my iPod. I've inserted the CD in, and I see blank squares instead of the actual Chinese characters.

- You can listen to whatever you want on an iPod..The tags are different though. I don't even know if it support Chinese characters though.
- The iPod is designed for many languages. Even if it can't be displayed on your computer, it can be displayed on your iPod. I had the same question about my Japanese songs. The only requirement is that they are mp3 or aac format.
- I have a lot of Japanese songs on my iPod and the characters show up perfectly. Since Japanese uses many of the same characters, the Chinese should work as well. You'll have to install the Chinese language pack to your computer though. I'm running Vista, so the process may be a little different, but basically you go into the control panel on your PC and click on change keyboards or other input methods under the heading of clocks and languages. Click on keyboards and languages, then change keyboards, then add. From there, just pick the Chinese dialect you want and install. If that doesn't work, just type in add languages in the help menu and it'll tell you how. Hope this helps!
